Runaway 34 is an Indian Hindi language thrilling drama based on the true story of Jet Airways Doha to Kochi flight 9W 555, a Boeing 737-800 aircraft that had a narrow escape on 18th August 2015. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, Boman Irani, and Al-Mamun Al Siyam in the lead roles.
Ajey Nagar aka CarryMinati also has a special role in this film as a social media influencer and in an interview with Ashish Chanchalani, Ajay Devgn said that he wrote his dialogue all by himself.
Credits for the soothing background music of this film goes to Amar Mohile and the songs are composed by Jasleen Royal while the cinematography and editing is handled by Aseem Bajaj and Dharmendra Sharma respectively. The theatrical release of this film was on the occasion of Eid on 29th April 2022. This film is distributed by Panorama Studios, and Yash Raj Films.
This film was made with a budget of rupees 65 crores and collected almost 47.65 crores (till 28th May 2022) from the Box Office which was not expected by the makers of this film. The duration of this film is 148 minutes.
The story of this film is based on a true story of Jet Airways Doha to Kochi flight 9W 555, a Boeing 737-800 aircraft that had a narrow escape on 18th August 2015, after facing the difficulties to land on the Cochin International Airport due to the bad weather and unclear visibility at 5:45 in the morning and had to be diverted in Trivandrum International Airport.
Initially, this movie was titled as Mayday and the announcement of this movie was held on 07th November 2020. The principal photography of this film was started on 11th December 2020 in Hyderabad and completed till 17th December 2021. Now this film is available to watch in the theaters.
