Karan Johar has announced a new film titled “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari,” starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor. The film is being described as a “modern love story” and is set to release in December 2024.
Some fans have speculated that the film could be a spiritual successor to Johar’s popular “Dulhania” franchise, which includes “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” (1995) and “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” (1998). However, Johar has not confirmed these rumors.
Kapoor and Dhawan have previously worked together in the film “Bawaal” (2023). “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari” is their second collaboration.
The film is produced by Dharma Productions, Johar’s production company. It is written and directed by Shashank Khaitan, who also directed “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania” (2014) and “Badrinath Ki Dulhania” (2017).
The announcement of the film has been met with mixed reactions from fans. Some are excited to see Kapoor and Dhawan reunite on screen, while others are skeptical of the idea of a new film in the “Dulhania” franchise.
