Synopsis –
Cobra is an upcoming Indian Telugu language science fiction film filled with action and thriller directed by R. Ajay Gnanamuthu }and written by Ratnam along with B. Jayamohan (dialogue by), Kalki Krishnamoorthy, and Elango Kumaravel (screenplay), this film is produced by S. S. Lalit Kumar, under the banner of Seven Screen Studios. The starcast of this movie are Vikram, Sarjano Khalid, Srinidhi Shetty, Miya, Roshan Mathew, Mirnalini Ravi and Irfan Pathan in the lead roles.
The team named the film Cobra because it resembles the pivotal character of a cobra snake. Director Ajay Gnanamuthu, stated in an Interview with Times of India that “the protagonist’s character and cobra has a link. If I reveal anything more now, it will give away too many details. Also, since the film is made in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi, I wanted a title that works in all languages. Hence, we titled this movie Cobra.
The music in this film and original score is composed by the one and only A.R. Rahman, cinematography and editing handled by Harish Kannan and Bhuvan Shrinivasan respectively. The lyrics of the songs in the film are written by Thamarai, Pa. Vijay, Vivek and Vignesh Shivan. Thumbi Thullal was the first song composed by A.R. Rahman for this film and released on digital platforms from 22nd June 2020. Shreya Ghosal provided female and Nakul Abhyankar provided male vocals for this song.
Cobra is scheduled to be released on 26th May 2022. First this movie was originally scheduled for a release on Eid Ul Fitr falling on 22nd May 2020. The release was postponed due to the Covid pandemic in India.
