Synopsis –
Rocketry: The Nambi Effect is an upcoming Indian movie which is based on the biography of Nambi Nayaran who is a former scientist and aerospace engineer of the Indian Space Research Organization who was falsely accused of being a spy. This film is directed, written and produced by Madhavan who is also playing lead with the female actress Simran.
This film’s story is about Narayan’s life when he was a graduate student at Princeton University. How he was arrested on false charges of being a spy in 1994. Also how he was still fighting for justice, against the police officers who falsely accused him in this matter, though free. The principal photography for this film took nearly 44 working days. This film was shot around several countries including India, Russia, Serbia, France and Georgia. Cinematography and editing in this movie was done by Sirsha Ray and Bijith Bala, respectively and the music in this film is composed by Sam C. S.
This movie will be available in Hindi, Tamil, and English, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada languages. So the release will be worldwide. The grand theatrical release of this film will be on 01st July 2022. The preproduction of this film was started in early 2017 with Anant Mahadevan who was initially reported to direct this film. This film was announced in October 2018 after extensive research about the story.
Madhavan confirmed the pre-production of this film was underway and he would portray Narayanan from the ages of 27 years to 75 years, and for this he was gaining his weight to shoot scenes for the movie. “This is not a biopic but an incisive investigation into a brilliant mind and India’s ambitious space technology”, said Mahadevan. He also added that Madhavan was the only actor who performed the character of Narayanan.
