Synopsis – Liger is an upcoming Indian Action, Drama, and Romance film scheduled for a theatrical release on August 25th 2022. This film is directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by Karan Johar, Puri Jagannadh, Charmme Kaur, Apoorva Mehta, and Hiroo Yash Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions, and Puri Connects. The star cast of this film includes Vijay Devarakonda in the lead role as a kickboxer, Ananya Pandey, Ramya Ramesh and Ronit Roy.
The music of this film is composed by Mani Sharma for the scores and Tanishk Bagchi for the songs. The cinematography and editing in this film is handled by Vishnu Sharma, and Junaid Siddique. For this film lead star Devarakonda underwent a dramatic physical transformation and went to Thailand for the martial arts training. Initially, Jahnvi Kapoor was chosen for the role of female lead but after she declined due to some date issues, Ananaya Pandey was signed for female lead role. There is a cameo role of boxer Mike Tyson in this film. This film was shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu languages and the theatrical release of this film was scheduled for 25th August 2022.
The principal photography of this film was started from 20th January 2020 in Mumbai with the initial title of Fighter. After the completion of 40 days shoot, the shooting of this film was halted due to the Covid pandemic guidelines restriction in the country. After lifting the restriction the second shoot was resumed from 15th September 2021 in Hyderabad. The scene with the boxer Mike Tyson was shot in Las Vegas in November 2021 and the full crew flew to Las Vegas for that shoot. And the shoot was wrapped up in February 2022.
Coming to the story of this film, the story is based on the life of a kickboxer, the role played by Vijay Devarakonda.
