After the covid 19 pandemic this 2022 is far better for the indian box office collection till date. And we are hoping that till the end of 2022 we will score a big number of box office collections till now. The past two years of the covid pandemic in India was not so good for the Indian film industry. But this year till now we have witnessed a significant rise in 2022 as the first month collection of the box office has crossed the INR 4000 cr gross mark in India.
Further big media are giving their reactions on these figures of box office collection like Ormax Media, a media consulting firm has reacted that “the box office in India has reached the pre-covid level and even further in 2022 so far”. Interactive Television, an Indian Cinema Advertising company, a part of GroupM India, along with Ormax Media, unveiled the ‘India Is Back… At The Theatres’ report.
The first four months of 2022 laid the foundation of this massive box office collection with some blockbusters like “RRR”, “KGF Chapter 2”, “Vikram”, “Beast”, and “Bheema Nayak”, along with “Gangubai Kathiawadi”, and “The Kashmir Files”. According to the Ormax Media report the total collection of Indian Box Office Collection reached a massive 4002cr INR within January to April 2022. This is the best ever performance post covid.
This was also marked as the first time that the monthly average box office collection stood at more than INR 1,000cr. These numbers have been achieved despite the impact of the third wave and 18% of theaters still being closed in 2019. This box office collection largely got a boost with the release of “KGF Chapter 2” and “RRR” with both having more than INR 1000 cr collections worldwide.
While the first five months have been excellent for the Indian Box office collection, the rest of the year is looking more promising with some action, thriller, and comedy entertainers. Now the audience will see some of the potential blockbusters of Indian cinema like “Laal Singh Chaddha”, “Brahmastra”, “Vikram Vedha”, and “Ram Setu”. The Ormax Media has estimated the biggest figure till now of INR 12515 cr for the Indian cinema box office collection. Let us see if we can touch the estimated figure or not.
Here we are clarifying that the above mentioned figure of 4002 cr is 60% contribution of Hindi dubbed South Indian movies primarily “KGF Chapter 2” and “RRR” and 38% is of the Bollywood movies.
