Synopsis – Maanaadu is an Indian Tamil language science fiction action thriller film written and directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Suresh Kamatchi. This film is produced under the production house of V House Productions. The film stars who roped in this film are Silambarasan, S. J. Suryah and Kalyani Priyadarshan alongside S. A. Chandrasekhar, Y. G. Mahendran, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, Aravind Akash and Anjena Kirti in supporting roles.
Music in this film is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja while the cinematography and editing is handled by Richard M. Nathan, and Praveen K. L. (his 100th film) respectively. This film was released theatrically on 25th November 2021 by SSI Productions. The runtime of this movie is around 147 minutes.
This film was announced in July 2018, this movie marks Prabhu’s maiden collaboration with Silambarasan. The principal photography of this film was started from 19th February 2020 at Chennai. The shoot of this film was completed in 68 working days despite the shooting being halted twice due to the first and second wave of covid pandemic.
The story of this film revolves around a common man and a police officer, who is trapped under a time loop on the day of a public conference by the state’s chief minister.
